Total value for this prize package over $300!

Here are details and links for each of the books:

The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook by Beth Hensperger is a BIG bread book! A bread-maker's 'bible"so to speak. This is a must-have book for anyone who enjoys baking breads of all types and not just from the bread-maker. Lots of tips on bread making basics too.

**

Instant Karma by Barbara Ann Kipfer is one of my fav new inspirational books to pick up and enjoy every day. Featuring 8,879 Ways to Give Yourself and Others Good Fortune Right Now. A great way to refocus and reinspire yourself, or as a gift for someone you love!

**

101 Designer One-Skein Wonders. I am loving this yarn book! I've already made the Guilty Pleasure Socks and they came out great. Have several other projects picked out for gifts and for myself too. A beautifully presented craft book that is chock full of one-skein wonders! Everything from socks, mitts, baby hats, a couple of wonderful vests, felted bags. Truly amazing that all of these beautiful designs were crafted from just one skein of yarn!

**

How to Make People Like You in 90 Seconds of Less by Nicholas Boothman If you've ever struggled with meeting new people, making a good first impression, felt shy or withdrawn at a social function, this is a gem of a self-help book you won't want to miss. I found some excellent pointers throughout that I've been implementing (with good results) since reading this book.

**

Paper Jewelry by Denise Brown is a unique and beautifully designed craft book featuring jewelry designs crafted from paper! If you are envisioning papier mache from your childhood days, formed into "clunky, chunky crafts" think again. This is designer quality jewelry, each one a work of art! Definitely a book perfect for the adventurous crafter looking for new creative challenges.

**

All 5 of these quality books and hundreds more are available at/via Thomas Allen & Son. A great way to cut your gift list down to size, in no time at all. Stop by their website for a book browse soon, you won't be disappointed. It's one of my fav online stops! Only downside, so much temptation for any book-lover !!! ;<)

John Lennon & the Mercy St. Cafe by William Hammett (click through for my complete review) is one of my all-time favorite novels. If you are a fan of John Lennon, the Beatles or just love finding a book that is an engaging read from start to finish, this is one you won't want to miss. I recently picked up and re-read this book on of all days: October 9th: John Lennon's birthday! Talk about a fun coincidence. It was just as enjoyable, the second time around.

**

10- Minute Feng Shui by Skye Alexander  (click through for my complete review) made me a believer when it comes to all things Feng Shui. This little gem of a book is packed with all kinds of suggestions how to easily incorporate Feng Shui components and accents into your home and office environments.

Author Skye Alexander is a prolific author and has written numerous fiction and non-fiction books on a wide variety of topics, with an emphasis on body, mind and spirit.  Stop by her website to read about all her books, interests and passions. This is one amazing  and talented woman!

**

Sea Glass Hearts by Josie Iselin (click through for my complete review). If you aren't familiar with this author/artist's work, she uses a process called Scannography (click to read more) and takes seemingly ordinary objects like stones and shells and transforms them into images, books, prints and collections that are uniquely beautiful. As I said in my review: you are in for a visual treat when you visit  Josie's blog and also enjoy her numerous stunning books. Some great gift ideas too, that are truly unique.

**

Haiku Reflections; The Four Seasons and My Poetic Path by Geraldine Hartman. Now for a bit of (shameless) self-promotion. ;<).

Haiku Reflections: The Four Seasons: takes the reader on  a seasonal tour of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter shared in 120 haiku poems. Haiku is one of my favorite forms of poetry and one that I continue to enjoy more and more, as a poet and a reader too. It was a joy to create each of these poems and to bring this collection together, with full-color details in this edition.

My Poetic Path : is a compilation of traditional poems with contemporary themes that I wrote between 2000-2010. Exploring the wonders of nature and the changing seasons. The ebb and flow of life and love. Timeless themes that will resonate with many readers.

And do stop by my poetry/writing blog: My Poetic Path. I'd love to have you visit me there too!

Finding Kate Huntley by Theresa Ragan (click through for my complete review) is the first Theresa Ragan novel I've read. This was a compelling page-turner from start to finish, with plenty of action, romance and intrigue. If you haven't read any of this author's numerous novels already, they are definitely worth checking out.

**

Crafting With Cat Hair by Kaori Tsutaya (click through for Mr. Cheddar's complete review) this is a book that Mr. Cheddar and I BOTH love! What a fun idea, using cat hair to create all sorts of wonderful small crafts and accents. I'm still saving up Ched's cat fur from his weekly grooming session and plan to try a couple of the craft projects in this book in the near future. Ched's review includes some great pics of the Chedster too, so make sure to click through for a look! :<)

**

Down & Dirty (gardening book) by Ellen Zachos (click through for my complete review) is the first gardening book that actually convinced me that I could be a gardener who could grow more than the absolute basics, and succeed. When I've had small garden plots in the past, I always stuck to the easy stuff like: potatoes, carrots, beets....but never beyond that. When I do have a garden again (hopefully soon) Ellen's gorgeous gardening book will be the one I'll turn to for inspiration and advice. This is a wonderful book!

**

Orchid Growing for Wimps by Ellen Zachos is another beautiful gardening book by Ellen Zachos. Orchids are a type of flower that I love, can usually identify as such and that's about it! But I do know of people who are absolutely smitten with growing these beauties themselves. And from the title of this book, it appears that you don't have to be an expert to actually make that happen!

**

The Vegetarian Slow-Cooker by Judith Finlayson is one of my new fav "go-to" cookbooks, when I'm using my slow-cooker. This is a gorgeous cookbook with full-color photos throughout and over 200 delicious, tested, slow-cooker recipes with everything from appetizers, breads (yes breads), cheesecake, soups, pasta, grain and vegetable dishes....it's all here.

Slow-cooking has come a LONG way from the days of just cooking a big "slab" of meat or a whole chicken, in one of these small appliances. As a vegetarian, I use mine all the time and love the convenience and great results. I blogged about the Sweet Potato Lasagna from this cookbook a while back at my cooking and craft blog. Do click through to enjoy this wonderful and hearty pasta recipe you'll want to make again and again. I'm actually making it again today! :<)

**

So there's the line-up!

One lucky winner will win all 15 of these great books! :<)

And for everyone who's reading along, I'm sure you'll find at least a couple of great gift inspirations here, with the festive season just around the corner.

Books are always a welcome gift. And one that can be enjoyed for years to come.

  1. A treasure box of books! Wow! My most recent enjoyable read was Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl. She's an amazing writer and the devious plot was well strung.

  2. I love to read! I always have at least 1 or 2 books on the go. My favorite author is Diane Gabaldon, who hooked me with her Outlander book series, I believe we are up to 8 now or eighth coming. Her fans wait with bated breath for each new novel. It takes her years to write each one, they are so involved and epic. She's an awesome writer and it's my greatest wish to meet her someday!

  3. A friend recently sent me the Tao of Pooh. I wasn't sure I would like it, but I do. It's required reading for anyone seeking a spiritual path.

  8. Ok NOW I'm crying, my favourite book, heck that's harsh I have hundreds, so I'll narrow it down to True Blue from Luanne Rice, because it is the only time that I actually felt heartbroken for a young girl. This is cruel, damn Quebec rules and stupid rules..gosh I want this, I don't understand, I mean if you can send me a package why can't i Never win 'cause i'm from Quebec....You're so generous and offer such fantastic gifts, it's like smelling your favourite dessert and every body gets a piece, except me cause of Quebec ruling...I'll stop visiting here, well when you havecontest that is....too frustrating for me~ but I'll always visit you, you don't make these stupid rules!!! x

  9. This is one amazing giveaway....wow, I think we are all stunned.

My favorite book is actually a new author to me, but I couldn't put it down and read if over several nights, and whenever I could fit it in. Do you know how unusual that is for someone who really reads? LOL.

These is my words, the diary of Sarah Agnes Prine by Nancy E. Turner. Simply engaging, written about her "great grandmother,[I think I got that right] it follows Sarah from the time she is a young woman on her way to the Arizona territories...and beyond as she builds her life. Read it, you will love it. I did! I will highly recommend it to anyone.

I have a few favourite books.
I love David Copperfield, by Dickens; as well as Tale of Two Cities.
The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood, is a book I've reread several times.
Another favourite book I've reread a few times is The Dollmaker by Harriette Arnow.
Like many of your readers I am always reading a book.
    Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

  15. Hi Lorraine, I'm so sorry about the Quebec contest rules. Make no sense at all.

Hi Jen, Yeah, it is kind of impressive, I agree. ;<) some very generous prize providers. I was so happy to be able to offer all these great books in one contest. Your suggestion sounds like a good one. I'll check it out.

Hi Anonymous, READ THE DETAILS PLEASE!

Hi Brian, Some of those kinds of books are real gems. I know what you're saying...

Hi Brenda, I've been a fan of Margeret Atwood since my days in Toronto, when she was just starting out as a novelist. I love most of her books. Haven't read that one though, I will now.

    Hi Debbie, Thanks for subscribing!

Speaking of subscriptions, has anyone else noted that subscription stats aren't going up, even when you know that there are new subscribers to your blog(S)? I know for a fact that's the case with both of my Blogger blogs. Just wondering...

    Happy Weekend, G

  16. November 3-One of my favourites books is 'Rebecca' by Daphne Du Maurier. This book absolutely fascinated me. The narrator was so insecure in her position as the second wife of a wealthy. older husband. She did not realize that he doted on her. The first wife was vain and evil, yet the housekeeper persuaded her that she was a beautiful paragon of virtue. I suppose it made me realize that a person must have a strong sense of self to survive in such circumstances.-Elva Roberts

  17. Ger,
I hadn't noticed that you will be working on a project off line this month. Good luck with it!
BTW, I do think you'd enjoy The Robber Bride, it is full of humour and very evocative of the 70's. I also love Atwood!
As well, The Dollmaker was made into a movie, with Jane Fonda in the starring role. I think you'd enjoy this classic of a poor woman's struggles in Detroit during wartime in the 40's. It is a story of art, and the striving to create, and overcome horrendous odds.
So, I'm hoping you'll have a good month, and also that you will get snow soon! :)

  19. I am partial to pretty much anything by Jane Austen but as a child my favorite book was Heidi. Of course, if we are going to go with a series of books, it would have to be the Uncle John's Bathroom Readers. So much trivia my friends look forward to my next random comment.

  21. Hi ELO, I read Rebecca many years ago and loved it too. I cam see why this is one of your favs.

Hi Brenda, I've got the Robber Bride on reserve at our library, looking forward to reading it. As far as my own project offline, I had some wonderful news, re: one of my books in progress so working hard to finish by the end of this month. So something had to give...LOL

Hi Becca, I've got to agree Becca, I was so happy with the quality and variety of books pledged for this month's giveaway. Thanks for the suggestion for authors too. I'm an avid reader and for me, it's not unheard of to read six books in a week! True!!!

Hi Anonymous, READ THE DETAILS ABOVE.

  24. This is a superb giveaway! I was drooling at all the good reads for recipes and projects. One of my favorite books is J.D. Salinger's Nine Stories. Although Salinger is most known for The Catcher in the Rye, I think his other books are actually better and definitely worth a read!

  30. My all time favourite isn't just one book, but anything in the "Goldy the caterer" series by Diane Mott Davidson... I could read them over and over again!

    ReplyDelete
  31. One of my favorite books is Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard. It gave me a whole new respect for the natural world.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Some of my favorite books right now are children's books since I have littles at home still.

Top Favorite: Llama llama mad at momma... It is so fun to read out loud!

    ReplyDelete
  33. One of my all-time favorite books is I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. It is a (sort of) coming of age story of a girl living in England in the early part of the last century. Her father had great success as an author, but has awful writer's block and refuses to write, and the family is trying to live off of his meager income while dreaming of the past and future great things. This summary doesn't do the book justice at all--you need to read it!

Hi Sandy and Cosmos, That's sounds like a great book, thanks.

Hi Jennifer, That must be fun. I'm glad you're spending time with your little ones reading. So many people seem to just turn on the tube and leave them there. Sad.

Hi Cee, Sounds like you loved this book, thanks for telling us about it.

Keep them coming....2 weeks to go!

  35. I usually said Jane Eyre as my favorite book but now I have to say it is 'Postcards from a dead girl' by Kirk Farber. It is the only book that I reread and still loves it. It is a funny/dark/quirky book. I love this book so much that I tried to write a review for it several times but could not do it justice. I highly recommend reading it when you get a chance. It is an easy read and I do like how Farber writes, very swift but still quite provoking and thoughtful.

Also 'Emily's Ghost' by Denise Giardina is a fiction about the Brontes. This and 'Postcards from a dead girl' are tied as my most favorites.

great contest! hope you have a sweet day.

  36. I've been reading like there is no tomorrow. Recently I read a book called Clara and Mr. Tiffany. It was about a woman who worked and designed real tiffany lamps. It is based off true life letters that Clara wrote during her years working for Tiffany's. It was a great book and I highly recommend it!

Thanks for including me... since I'm not blogging anymore you can reach me at schcouponatgmaildotcom. My name is Becky!

  37. The Velveteen Rabbit is my all-time favourite. It's been a story that suits so many challenges in my life. I have a few copies around.

  38. To pick one book seems like a crime. I love reading, I love books, I love the printed word anywhere and everywhere! and that means I love this giveaway.
I loved 'What Katy Did', Black Beauty, Little Women, 'Anne Frank - The Diary of a Young Girl' among many others - as a young girl.
Now that I am older, I still love these books but I also love others - 'The Book Thief', 'The Sari Shop', 'The Alchemist', 'Life of Pi' - among many more.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I loved the Conqueror's Trilogy by Timothy Zahn. He made the future look real. Many times in SciFi it's so over the top that you simply know it can never happen. In Zahn's writings (except Star Wars, of course) the reader feels he or she has possibly obtained a glimpse of what life will be like a few hundred years from now.
