Favorite Floral Collage and the Domain Dilemma Continues!

This is one of my favorite collages.

A collection of just a few of the flower photos I've taken over the years.

That part of this post makes me smile.πŸ˜‚

🌷🌷🌷

Unfortunately, the second part doesn't.

And my apologies for yet another domain name related rant here.

I am SO tired of this ongoing issue that I thought was finally getting settled this month. That hasn't happened.😣

When I checked for the

myreallifereviews.com

domain name that I wanted to go back to this month, turns out some domain company has bought it up in the meantime. Now, it won't be available again for ANOTHER year!!

To say I was surprised and mad when I found out about this is putting it mildly.

So now I'm debating what to do.
I really don't want to revert back to a blogspot  domain but I can't waste anymore time with all this.

As it is, I will have lots of work changing links in my eBooks, sites, this blog...but I wouldn't have to put up with lousy domain providers like Namecheap anymore. The company that caused all these problems to begin with.

So, for now,

myreallifereviews.xyz

will work, but if and when I transition back to NO custom domain, I will be blogging at,

myreallifereviews.blogspot.com

What I've learned from this experience and the advice I can pass on.... choose a domain provider VERY carefully (read lots of recent reviews at several different sites)and check their BBB rating.

And most of all, stay away from

NAMECHEAP

The domain provider that has caused me all these problems and wasted HOURS and hours of my time.

Buyer beware!!

NameCheap. Domain/Hosting Provider and more....

😣😣Update to my Namecheap review, as of October 2017, 😣😣

As of today, I am still TRYING to update my email address with Namecheap, to no avail. This has been going on for WEEKS!! Yes, you read that correctly, WEEKS.

Apparently, they have some glitch with their system not accepting some GMAIL accounts, which is the email provider I recently switched to when MYWAY went out of business.

I have sent countless emails and numerous chats to get this rectified with Namecheap, still not done and no end in sight to this insanity!!!

I don't know what has happened to Namecheap but it is beyond ridiculous how they've been treating me recently.

I had to update dozens of companies with my switchover to gmail, NONE of these other companies (big and small) have put me through anything like this.

If you hate wasting time on mundane tasks like updates to your email address etc, STEER clear of Namecheap. 😣😣😣

I will post any updates that happen but so far, VERY surprised by how they've been treating me for something that should and could have been rectified by them in minutes. Instead, it's been WEEKS and hours of my time wasted.

Do your homework if choosing a domain or hosting company.

Buyer Beware!!😣😣😣

-------------------------------------
This is my previous positive review of Namecheap, which as of 2017 is no longer applicable.

Left here only to show just how far they have slid downhill....😣😣😣😣😣

Don't be put off by the name. The only thing cheap about this company is the amount of $$$ you will have to pay.

With the launch of this new blog, I searched the Internet looking for a company that would provide what I needed to get up and running: for now, just a new domain. A reasonable price, good (IE: NON-TECHIE) support and no "junk" to wade through to get it.

First stop for me was unfortunately the domain/hosting provider that comes up again and again online: GoDaddy.

In my opinion: Daddy can just GO and take a hike!

What a mess it was to try to navigate their site. In particular, I was appalled by all the check-marks that just happen to get added (not by me) before I arrived at the check-out. I ended up with a total that was not even close to the price quoted for a domain name on their front page. I checked out, but not with anything purchased. And with a very poor impression of this "industry leader". Even the coupon code I had from another online site didn't work for this company.

I continued my search and finally found my way to NameCheap.

All I can say is: so far, very good! As a non-techie person I appreciate simple to understand answers/support when it comes to all things Internet-related. I was immediately impressed by how quickly and easily my numerous set-up questions were answered. Nothing unexpected at the check-out screen either. And yes, I did have a coupon for NameCheap and this one worked.

Check out their website if you need a domain or hosting provider or other online/blogging services. I haven't had time to check out all their offerings but based on my experiences to date, I will be back!
