I ended up with a couple extra gmail accounts that I don't actually need and can't find a way to delete them. When I tried, Google wouldn't allow this. Go figure???
I'm working my way through the learning process there and also switching over all my accounts from myway. That email provider is unfortunately going out of business as of the first of October.

ReplyDeleteI wish I knew. I have tried to remove a Yahoo email account but it won't go.
I didn't want to risk it Val as they have a warning about also deleting other info in the process, how silly is that? I miss myway already, it was low on add one I don't want but did the job.😣 Too bad they couldn't compete with Gmail, etc..

ReplyDeleteI'm curious Debbie, what email service do you use? I'm still open to other options at this point if they were better than gmail. One of the things I REALLY dislike is having add one like chat windows added for me. If I want add-ons I'll do it myself!!😣
DeleteI use Hotmail but the rest of my family uses Gmail, they all think that Gmail is better. I like Hotmail but I am sure that is because it is the only email service I have ever used. I hope that helps.

DeleteI think - if you do not use it for long enough it gets deleted, I know that happened to my yahoo account. Trouble is you only have to open it once and that will delay the situation. A couple of my gmail accounts that I do not use a lot make me log in every single time and will not remember the password as the the other ones do!!

DeleteI will just keep the other accts unused and maybe they will just delete them eventually. My point, this should not be a big deal to accomplish.

the how to's show right up and it looks pretty easy.

But when you actually go to do it Tammie, a warning comes up about deleting other info at the same time, that I don't want to do. Linking so many things together is not always best IMO. Thanks for your good wishes.🐝🌞🌼
DeleteI'll be watching to see if anyone has a way that works to delete an account without risking losing other info. Someone I know had a terrible time cancelling FB and accounts on her mother's computer after the mom died. ( She didn't know her mom's passwords so that might have been a big part of the problem.)

I gave up on FB a long time ago, after I was informed that someone had signed into my FB in India!!!Obviously it wasn't me. I think the more we can minimize possible security breaches, the better. Interesting story about your friend's experience, that must have been hard for her.

I'm not going to sweat it lol!! I just won't use the extra accounts. I have enough to learn with just gmail, like the quickest way to sign out and why doesn't every email go to inbox? Some showing up as update first. Go figure!!!😣

ReplyDeleteI love Autumn Sandy, I'm glad it's arrived too. the end of the dry spell here in BC hopefully, NO rain to speak of for almost 3 MONTHS!!! That's just crazy for this province and area known for lots of rain. Global warming is no myth, to bad a lot of people think it is. :-(

I am actually getting more comfortable with gmail the more I use it BUT one of the things I don't appreciate is having them check off boxes for me, instead of the other way around, when it comes to setting up my email accts etc...and the basics like where to sign off or toggle to another acct. those I had to look for!!! I don't need a chat window on the side of my inbox but I do need to know how to set up folders, change passwords etc, maybe a tutorial would help LOL.
